Position: Marketing Manager, Menswear Specialist
Mick has always been keen on a sense of classic style. Fashion accessories like bow-ties, sleeve garters and braces are commonplace in his everyday dressing. Inspired by the everyday dress of men in 1950’s and 60’s America Mick likes to put his own interpretation on these timeless looks. His style icons include Shuhei Nishiguchi, Tomoyoshi Takada, and Nick Wooster.
Born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta Mick followed in his father’s footsteps entering into the family business of custom home building and design. After 12+ years of working for the family business, he decided to make a career change and in turn directed his focus on something he has always had an affinity for: fashion.
Graduating with honors from the Olds College Fashion Marketing program Mick had promised and had been helping renovate his brother’s newly purchased house when espy came calling. Sensing a real great opportunity he jumped at the prospect of fulfilling his dream of being apart and involved in the fashion world. He has been with espy since May 2017.
Outside of work his passions include golf, baseball, hockey, fishing and anything to with culinary adventures. His favorite cuisine is Indian but admittedly his favorite meal happens each year at Ukranian Christmas when his mom tirelessly makes all the traditional dishes from scratch. Mick doesn’t consider himself a chef by any means but loves the art of cooking and is always keen to try and emulate and tweak the dishes he has sampled over his lifetime.
Mick has a quick wit and is always ready with a sarcastic rebuttal to his colleagues constant and relentless teasing of him and his two different colored eyes. Generally quiet and composed Mick brings an air of calmness and self-assurance to the espy team. He enjoys the loving, family-like atmosphere with his colleagues and is excited with every chance he gets to learn and grow in the dynamic environment that is espy.
