WANTED BOOTS are HERE!
Does the dreary weather have you a bit down today?? Not to worry, espy knows just how to cheer you up – with our FAVORITE fall boots from Wanted Shoes of course! A little shopping therapy never hurt anyone, right? And lots of you still need to REDEEM your denim Groupons! (remember, if you purchased in February, it EXPIRES on Sept.3 with NO EXCEPTIONS!) Take advantage of the less than perfect weather and come visit us at espy this weekend!
So what should you be looking for when you’re shopping for boots? We just received 4 different styles of boots to wear all different ways. We’ve got the printed mid calf, the brown bootie, the tan staple, and the grey riding boot. How could you possibly choose?!
We’ve got your fall boot trends covered…now you just need the tools to style them up so you look HOT this season (even if it’s a little chillier than we like):
1. The Printed Mid-Calf Boot
This season is all about PRINTS! Spring was about colored denim, and fall is about printed denim. What’s great is that if a printed jean totally freaks you out, you can pull the trend in with a great pair of boots like these Navajo inspired mid-calf boots.
Try pairing your printed boots with basic black leggings or skinnies and an over-sized knit sweater. Accessorize with a chunky, metallic wrist cuff and layered necklaces in varying lengths. Finish the look off with a great fitting leather jacket for a little edge or a denim jacket to keep it casual.
You can also pair your colored denim from spring with a printed boot. Keep it simple on top with a neutral sheer blouse and statement earrings. Make life easy and wear your hair in an easy pony tail or a trendy top knot.
2. The Ankle Bootie
It’s all about the BOOTIE this season. Everyone is wearing the bootie, because it goes with EVERYTHING! Skinnies, leggings, dresses, tights, it doesn’t matter…the bootie is the new all around footwear for fall. The chunky heel will give you some height (and added length to your leg) and still be comfortable enough to wear all day.
Try wearing a jewel toned colored skinny with the bootie. Color block with a contrasting jewel tone on top and a printed scarf for a stop-you-in-your-tracks, head-turning look you can just as easily rock at the grocery store as you can on casual Friday.
These are the boots you pair with your printed denim or funky printed leggings. The question becomes…what do I wear with printed bottoms!??!
A totally different print on top! The trick to pattern mixing is knowing your print rules:
1. Don’t match your prints. EVER!
2. Don’t pair a bold pattern with an equally bold pattern. Balance out the look with 2 different subtle patterns. Or one bold and one subtle.
3. Add a solid jacket, scarf, blazer, or accessory to add some depth, create proportion, and anchor your outfit.
4. Keep the colors in the patterns in similar tones.
3. The Tall Tan Staple Boot
It literally goes with everything. Think of it as the cute and appropriate to wear in public version of an Ugg boot. It’s comfy, it’s practical, and it’s got lacing up the back to allow room for a bigger calf.
4. The Grey Riding Boot
The flat riding boot is a classic! It’s versatile, comfortable, and flattering. There are two panels of elastic at the back of this boot for a little extra space for the calf endowed. Tall boots such as this riding boot are the best complement to a new skinny jean wear-er! A tall boot adds a bit of balance and reassurance that you don’t look like an inverted pear.
