So we thought we would give you a little STYLE inspiration on how to accessorize your denim through the changing seasons by mixing fall trends with the summer favs we aren’t letting go of until the leaves turn orange!

1. Fall Color Blocking

Pair your fav jeans with a fitted blazer in hot color. Alex wears her Fidelity Stevie’s (an espy top denim pick) with a teal blazer and an orange floral printed top. This look is a play off the turquoise and coral of spring and summer. In darker, jewel tones, you achieve the freshness of color blocking, but you look more seasonal. While the weather is still warm, pair this look with a peep toe patterned heel (like the Desigual beauties shown) or your best summer wedges.

2. Transitioning your Colored Denim

The biggest street trend of Spring/Summer ’12 was the colored skinny. And guess what? It’s not going anywhere! Stella wears our new stock of lemon yellow skinnies from Mavi in this second look. So how do you wear your pastel jeans into September? You accessorize! Wear your little oxford heels and a great patterned scarf in a print that screams Autumn. Look for geometric shapes in rich colors vs. floral prints in baby pinks and mint greens. Pair your colored skinnies with an over-sized sheer top in a neutral. This will allow for your jeans and your accessories to be the focal point of your outfit.

3. Jewel Tones

Are you as eager as the espy stylists to start wearing fall trends? If you’re looking for colored denim for fall and winter, go for darker tones in burgundy or teal. In this look, Alex wears burgundy Mavi skinnies with a textured top and equally textured blazer. Bring in some turquoise from the summer in your necklace and your gladiator sandals to keep the look transitional.

4. “I didn’t even try and I still look fabulous” – ie. Effortless Style

The effortless look is one we all try our very hardest to achieve. And Stella pulls it off wonderfully in the super high rise Fidelity Triumphs, a kitten heel, and a sweet print. The trick is looking pulled together while avoiding being matchy matchy. Her green skinny belt and pink scarf brighten up the black bottoms and neutral heart printed shirt.

5. Preppy

Have we had a fall season that didn’t embrace preppy? Here is a muted version of preppy style. Alex wears a soft denim with an acorn printed tee. To keep the look on the preppy side, avoid over-doing it with accessories. Wear a gold pendant necklace like the one shown above. This is the day to rock your glasses instead of your contacts! And your feet will be thanking you when you bust out a flat oxford.
