Do you know the SUNFEST SECRET?

Thanks to all those we participated in the espy flash mob on August 4, 2012!

This summer espy has teamed up with ILLFX Entertainment for a MASSIVE community project during Inglewood’s Sunfest Festival. We have taught over 7000 people in schools, dance studios, and special events  all across Calgary to date!

Do you LOVE Carly Rae Jepsen?? Well – the espy stylists do! Look what happened when we took Ellen and Edgar to the Coke Stage during Stampede:

ILLFX Entertainment also went a little COUNTRY when they taught the espy flash mob at the HOE DOWN:

We even taught the girls in line for #bikiniespy (wearing Ellen DeGeneres masks of course! Click here to find out why):

The point of this project is to SPREAD JOY and encourage participation in community projects. Flash mobs are a YouTube sensation – and we’ve filled our espy channel with TONS of videos of ILLFX (and some espy stylists) doing the espy flash mob choreography.

One of the coolest parts of this choreography is who created it! espy is so fortunate to work with ILLFX’s choreographer Edgar Gilbert-Reyes. Edgar was one of the top ten dancers in season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada! You probably voted for him!

espy and ILLFX plan to have 10,000 people FLASH MOBBING at the Inglewood Sunfest Festival. The mob will break out at 4pm on Saturday, August 4th, 2012 on 9th Ave SE.

How to Get Involved?

THE ELLEN PROJECT

The espy flash mob is spreading joy! And thanks to so much success and so many participants…we’ve made a BIG decision…

…We’re going to bring the espy flash mob to ELLEN! And yes, we mean Ellen of The Ellen DeGeneres Show!

It’s a lot more realistic than you think! What do we all know Ellen for? DANCING and LAUGHTER and GAMES! She scares celebrities (poor Taylor Swift!), she pits guests and audience members against each other in crazy competitions, she makes normal situations awkward on purpose, she embarrasses people, she puts herself in movie and tv scenes – basically she does just about anything she herself finds funny.

And what does she do to get celebs on her show (ie. George Clooney) or get herself on Oprah’s magazine? She CAMPAIGNS with humor. So we’re taking her advice and turning the tables on her. We’re going to play all her jokes on her. The espy flash mob is now part of our ELLEN PROJECT! This campaign has 2 desired outcomes:

1. Get Ellen to the flash mob. OR;

2. Get on Ellen’s show when she starts airing her next season.

Pretty straight forward objectives, right?

So how exactly does the Ellen Project work?

-You may have seen some tweets from the espy stylists and the ILLFX dancers and some crazy pics with…Ellen! If you come to the store, you will also see Ellen. We are in possession of a life-size Ellen cut out. And she will now be featured in all our FLASH MOB videos.

-espy and ILLFX will be sharing videos and photos such as this with Ellen through twitter, Facebook, and email. We will literally BOMBARD Ellen’s team with espy flash mob content – which features ELLEN!

However, in order to make this whole Ellen Project possible, we’re going to need YOUR HELP:

• We need you to TWEET, RETWEET, SHARE, and DANCE the espy flash mob dance at Ellen!
• We need you to WATCH and SHARE videos and photos that make up The Ellen Project.
• Follow Ellen on twitter @TheEllenShow and “like” her on Facebook at The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
• Need a mask or two? Download her FACE on her website. Click here.

• Upload your videos to YouTube and share with the “espy” Facebook business page.
