#bikiniespy is a Stampede-themed fundraiser for Special Olympics Calgary happening on Saturday, July 6, 2013. espy raises money for SOC by asking women of all ages and sizes to line up outside the store in their bikinis and cowboy boots for a free Stampede outfit with a donation to SOC. Participants will be completely styled in a western outfit, valued at $500, by one of espy’s professional fashion stylists for braving the #bikiniespy lineup. All participants are required to make a minimum $100 donation to SOC in order to receive the clothing, but are encouraged to raise more by using the online donation system. There are only 100 spots available for those who wish to participate in the lineup! #bikiniespy also features a Stampede Breakfast, open to the community with a donation to SOC.
The #bikiniespy event is an important extension of espy’s unique concept. As a store that does all it can to properly fit, welcome and accept bodies of all shapes and sizes, #bikiniespy is an event to celebrate the differences in all of us, while supporting an important organization in our community. Our hope is that #bikiniespy raises both funds and awareness for the work Special Olympics Calgary does. (And when you’ve got a hundred women in bikinis outside the store, you’re definitely going to attract some attention!)
Here’s how #bikiniespy 2013 is different:
1. Registration Required:
This year, #bikiniespy is doing things slightly different! We are requesting all those who wish to participate in the #bikiniespy lineup to register online. You must be registered online, by June 20, 2013 in order to participate. There are only 100 spots available! And you must be registered if you want to participate. To register, please click here (before it’s too late!).
2. Encouraging Donations:
When you register, you will be asked to make a $100 donation. This initial donation is required for all participants. All funds go directly to Special Olympics Calgary. After you have made your initial donation, build your online profile and start sharing it with your family and friends! Let them know you’re working a bikini outside espy to raise money for SOC and get yourself sponsored to do so. We also have AMAZING prizes for the woman who raises the most this year as the coveted title of Miss Bikiniespy is up for grabs!
3.Styling Options for Participants:
We are proud and excited to announce that Mavi Jeans is our title clothing sponsor this year. We are also excited to offer our participants a little more involvement in their personal styling session at the event. As part of the registration process, participants will get to choose the type of Western look they want from 4 different options. The espy buyers will be on the search for items specifically for participants, based upon the looks chosen at registration.
The “I’ve got a broken heart and I’m not afraid to tell you” kind of feminine. This is for the cowgirl who doesn’t shy away from textures, florals and seasonal trends.
Bohemian inspired silhouettes and Navajo prints prove that the Wild, Wild West is best ruled in layers.
A couple twists on classic Stampede staples will have you tipping your hat to all the partners out there. Giddy-up!
WANTED: Corsets, suedes, studs and slicks. Play up the bandit and run from the Sheriff!

The clothing participants will receive is valued at $500/participant.* Participants will also enjoy giveaways during the lineup and free breakfast for themselves and 2 guests. Participants have the chance to win additional prizes when we crown Miss Bikiniespy! In order to win the coveted title, individuals must raise the highest donation amount for Special Olympics Calgary.
*Note: In order to be eligible to participate, $100 must be donated at time of registration to Special Olympics Calgary. All donations raised go directly to SOC.
