Tianna Stevenson

Tianna is espy’s small town fashion girl. She grew up just south of Calgary in the city of Lethbridge. After graduating high school, she went straight to the University of Lethbridge to study her favourite subject – English. Writing and literature have been a major part of Tianna’s life since she learned to read. After four extremely successful academic years, Tianna graduated with honours in 2009. Her life had always been focused on scholastic achievement but her interest was always in the arts. Studying English in University was the perfect post-secondary degree because it allowed Tianna to excel academically as well as express her own creativity through her writing.

Although Tianna had always been focused on her education, since she was a little girl, she has been obsessed with fashion and makeup. When she played with her hundreds of Barbies, all she did was dress them, make clothes for them, and take their hair out so she could do it the way she liked. She played Ninja Turtles with her older brother under the condition that afterwards she would get to do his hair and makeup. Her mom is also a makeup hound, so she let Tianna start wearing makeup before all her friends. By middle school, Tianna was the go-to girl for outfits and makeup for every school dance. Her closet (and her mom’s) continues to be lent out to friends and friends of friends for special events or just a Friday night out.

After graduating from the U of L, Tianna decided to continue on an academic route and was accepted into the University of Alberta Law School. Unfortunately, the stress of the program really took its toll on her. There was something about law that didn’t connect with Tianna’s quiet personality. She says jokingly now that she was “way too nice for law school.” Even though it had always seemed like law was the final step towards her career, it just wasn’t enough to make her happy, so she decided to leave.

Leaving law school has opened so many doors for Tianna to finally explore what she loves, not just what she can accomplish after a twelve hour study marathon in a university library. Tianna has always found a way to mingle her love for fashion with her other interests. In her second year of university, she wrote a paper on the effects of clothing and costume design in Shakespeare’s final masterpiece, The Tempest.

Tianna moved to Calgary to do some contract editing work on a self help book. She took the role as lead editor after her meetings with the author and is proud to say she taught someone how to properly use a comma. She stumbled upon espy during one of those moments that you think it’s just too good to be true. Tianna now works at espy as the marketing coordinator. In the year she’s been with espy, she is proud to be an intergral part of all espy events, fundraisers, sales, and promotions. Her pride and joy is the content of the espy website. From bios to blogs to newsletters, she loves to inform the city of all the latest espy news.

As a stylist, her self-taught and learned knowledge about what works on different body shapes is what puts clients at ease with Tianna. She has a knack for seeking out an individual client’s style and her soft approach instantly makes clients feel comfortable. Pulling outfits is not just a natural talent of Tianna’s, it’s her actual favourite past time, which is appreciatively apparent to the client.

Tianna loves everything and anything pink. Her personal style is always super girly, super cute, and always trendy. She loves to mix trendy pieces with well-fitted basics. She follows celebrity fashion obsessively and will try just about anything style-wise. You will rarely see Tianna without long black eye lashes and winged eyeliner. She loves loves loves mascara and will always recommend an eyelash curler for a little extra eye lift.

What Tianna loves about espy is that every day she gets to help make strangers feel good about themselves whether it’s through styling, blogging or espy events. Tianna is now in a place where she can confidently exude her fashion knowledge and be in an environment that is healthy, optimistic, and fun.
